Start with the system, not the part number. Each application below shows where the part lives, what it has to survive and what we build for it. If yours isn't here, bring us the gap.
An Icon engineer, not a remote sales hub, comes back to you within two working days.
A seal profile that works on a wing fairing would not survive a nacelle fire zone. Every system loads a part in its own way: its own temperatures, pressures, fluids, movement and service life. So the same kind of product becomes a different part in every place it is used. That is why we start every project with the application, engineer the part to it, and qualify it on rigs that load it the way the platform will.
That is what we mean by aerospace sealing solutions: aerospace seals, ducting, hoses and mouldings engineered for one application on one platform, then made to the same specification for as long as it is in service.
You know your system. Start from it: select a point on the aircraft or the vehicle, or pick the conditions your part faces, and we will show you the applications that match.
Hover or select a point on the aircraft.Tap a point, or swipe the cards.
Conditioned air has to reach the cabin, flight deck and equipment bays through whatever space the design has left, and every joint in that run adds weight, a stress point and a leak path. We form ducting to the envelope you actually have, single run or multi-branch, and build seals into the duct where they remove a joint.
A gap in an airframe is drag, noise and an ingress path. Closing it cannot add load paths, fasteners or weight the aircraft can't afford, and the seal has to keep working through pressure cycles, cold soak at altitude and years of weather. We fuse the elastomer to its reinforcement, add metal or composite inserts where the seal has to carry load, and prove the fit on the aircraft before a production tool exists.
In a designated fire zone, a seal has one job for fifteen minutes: hold back the flame while the engine vibrates, the air moves and the pressure changes. Our fire seals came out of an eight-year materials programme, and we test them on our own rigs, loaded the way the engine loads them.
Air-to-air refuelling moves fuel between two aircraft in flight, at altitude, in any climate. Weight, durability and flow rate all matter at once, and so does the joint. Flexiflo™ hoses are optimised for all three and supplied with Icon's own Braidlock® end couplings, so hose and coupling are designed together.
Aircrew life support fails in two ways. The hose kinks or crushes under a load nobody planned for, or it carries weight the aircraft can't justify. Ours are crush, kink and vacuum resistant, made from CBRNe-standard materials, with communications leads and end fittings built into the hose.
Vibration, thermal growth and structural flex travel through ducting and pipework until something absorbs them. If nothing is designed to, the weakest joint does. Our bellows give you vibration isolation at the connection, taking up axial, lateral and angular movement through single or multiple convolutions, sized to your movement envelope rather than a stock size.
Running gear on a tracked vehicle wears from the inside and the outside at once: heat builds up within the rubber while chip-and-chunk tears at its surface. Either one takes the vehicle out of service. Our ENDURANCE® compounds and the I-PC process are developed to resist both, from road wheels to track pads.

Certifications & approvals →Most of our work begins with a system nobody has catalogued: a new platform, a tighter envelope, a fluid or temperature the old part never saw. Tell us where the part lives and what it has to survive, and we will show you what we would build.
FlexiSeal™ brake and landing gear seals, −40°C to +150°C, compatible with all brake fluids
High-pressure, hydraulic and heated hose assemblies
Absorbers and EMI suppression materials
Brake seals, cable coverings and elastomer components
Rubber expansion joints for pipelines, water, HVAC and process plant
Replacements made to drawing or specification, in single and low quantities
Already have a drawing? Send it. We manufacture to print with first article inspection to AS9102, low tooling costs and low minimum quantities. If we see a change that would improve the part, we will say so before we quote.
Request a QuoteA fire seal on a bench meets a flame. A fire seal in a nacelle meets the flame while the engine vibrates, air moves across it and the pressure either side keeps changing. So our fire rigs apply all four at once, the way the engine will.
That is why one engine programme's result did not surprise us. Across the industry, a fire seal can need up to three attempts to pass qualification. On that programme, every seal we developed passed at the first attempt, because by the time our seals reach formal qualification, they have already been through fire here.
Engineer to engineer, from the system you describe to the part on your platform.
Share the platform, the system, the envelope and what the part has to survive. A drawing helps; a clear problem is enough. An Icon engineer comes back to you within two working days.
Compound selection or development, design and FEA, and 3D-printed prototypes and tooling, reviewed engineer to engineer. Then testing on rigs built to replicate your service conditions, formal qualification and first article inspection to AS9102.
Approved parts move into production in Retford, made to the same specification with full traceability, for as long as the platform is in service.
The same applications recur across multiple industries. Here is where each one does its work.

A product is what we make: a duct, a seal, a hose. An application is the job it does on your platform, such as environmental control or fire containment. The same type of product is engineered differently for each application, because each one has to survive different conditions.
Very likely. Most of our projects start with a system nobody has catalogued. If a polymer or elastomer part has to seal, contain, transfer or isolate something on your platform, describe what it has to survive and an engineer will tell you whether we can build it.
Where the part lives, what it connects to, and what it has to survive: temperature range, pressures, fluids or media, movement and vibration, fire requirements and service life. Add the specification you have to meet and your expected volumes. A drawing or model helps, but you do not need one to start.
On rigs designed to replicate how the part is loaded in service, not only how it performs on a bench. Our fire rigs, for example, combine flame with vibration, airflow and pressure differentials. Fire, thermal, pressure and environmental testing come before formal qualification and first article inspection to AS9102.
That depends on the application and your specification. Fire seals are fire-proof to FAA AC 20-135 and tested to ISO 2685. Flexiflo™ refuelling hoses are made to DEF STAN 00-970, DEF STAN 05-123 and MIL-H-4495D. Every part is made under our AS9100 Rev D quality management system.
Yes. We make replacement parts to drawing or specification in single and low quantities, and support approved parts for the life of the platform. That helps operators keep older aircraft and vehicles in service when the original supplier has moved on.
No. Aerospace is where our standards come from, but the same applications appear in land defence, rail and transport, and industrial equipment. Running gear for tracked vehicles, brake seals for rail, and bellows for industrial pipework all come from the same engineers in Retford, England.
Share the platform, the system and the conditions, or just describe the problem. An Icon engineer, not a remote sales hub, will come back to you within two working days with a first view on what we would build.
